orientation tripsIn order to promote international cooperation and exchange, the Mondriaan Foundation organises annual orientation trips for curators and journalists.
|
visitors programmeThe international visitors programme provides foreign professionals with an intensive introduction to contemporary art in the Netherlands.
|
artist-in-residenciesThe Netherlands Foundation for Visual Arts, Design and Architecture, known in the Netherlands as Fonds BKVB, has access to artist-in-residence places and studios in several countries. Furthermore, the Fonds BKVB offers some temporary artists-in-residence places (AIR´s). The aim of allowing visual artists, designers and architects to spend time in one of these studios is to enable them to develop and reflect upon their work in a different environment and culture. Such a residency also generates opportunities for making or extending international contacts and for exploring and/or developing a new market.
art presentationWith our grant program for exhibiting artists and designers from the Netherlands in other countries, the Mondriaan Foundation hopes to promote the international appreciation of contemporary art and design from the Netherlands, and to enhance the international position of professional artists living and working in our country.
|
Arts CollaboratoryThe Mondriaan Foundation cooperates with Hivos and Stichting Doen on the programme Arts Collaboratory. Arts Collaboratory aims to support artists’ initiatives in non-Western countries and to promote international exchanges and the exchange of knowledge with visual arts organisations in the Netherlands.
art fairsThe presentation of art and design from the Netherlands at leading international art fairs has proven to be an important promotional tool. These fairs are a valuable source of international contacts for the participating galleries and artists. They create opportunities for new exhibitions and lead to acquisitions by collectors and museums all over the world.
KulturAKulturA supports projects that reinforce the cultural infrastructure on the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba and strengthen (international) cultural exchange. Projects that promote exchanges between the islands and the Netherlands and projects that strengthen the international position of the islands in the Caribbean region can also be supported.
The Mondriaan Fund supports the international presentation of visual art from the Netherlands. This map offers a geographic overview of all the presentations financed by the Mondriaan Fund (and Mondriaan Foundation) over the past few years, people who have been invited within the context of the visitors’ programme and countries that have been visited during the orientation trips.
Every year, the Mondriaan Fund supports more than three hundred presentations in some 50 countries. Its international visitors’ programme provides foreign curators and critics with an intensive introduction to contemporary art in the Netherlands. To promote international collaboration and exchange, the Mondriaan Fund organises orientation trips for Dutch and international curators and journalists.
